World wonders Bomb Game

Here are 2 powerpoint files to accompany "High School English 1" - Lesson 5 - Topic 1 "Historic Places".  Of course they can be used with any class to talk about famous places in the world.  One purpose of the lesson is for students to learn and recognized different structures:  monument, statue, cathedral, etc.

The first powerpoint is "Landmarks" which is to get students to identify historic places.
Second powerpoint is a bomb game to use in the next class as a review.  With the bomb game, I couldn't get the letters to change color after the question has been selected so I just write them on the board and mark them off manually.  If anyone can tell me how to fix that, I'd appreciate it!

Im doing a lesson on travel with my middle school after school class. I think the powerpoint will work nicely. thanks for the upload :)

I've been doing foreign culture and 'design your own country' with my middle  aschool kids and this will be great as a reveiw at the end of the project.

The reason the letters aren't changing colors is you have hyperlinked from the bounding box of the lettering, not the letters themselves.

I can't seem to open the game. Are you making changes to it and thats why it can't be opened?

I teach at a middle school with varying levels. I have altered the slideshow to focus on 3 basic questions and answers: Where is it? What is it? And what is it named? I have also created a worksheet that will be shared among group members.

Before class I will have the vocabulary related to the types of structures (palace, monument etc.) written on the board with the Korean translation so the students can reference the list throughout the class.

There are 20 structures listed across 4 worksheets (5 per sheet). Students in my class are always in teams of 4. I will give each student only 1 of the 4 worksheets. During the PPT presentation, each student will be responsible for writing the sentences related to the 5 structures on their sheet, so that all together the group will have all 20 structures.

When it comes time for the bomb game, to make all students at the table responsible for the team's success, only the student whose worksheet has the listed structure can raise their hand to answer the related question. This will encourage participation from the whole team.

MOD's / OP: do you mind if I post this stuff in the Middle School section... of course with proper recognition to the OP?
