Jamie Keddie (awesome lesson plan blog)
« on: March 11, 2012, 08:05:28 pm »
Hey!

Jamie Keddie is an awesomely experienced EFL teacher who has done work all over the world, from teaching to giving workshops on his practice.

http://lessonstream.org is his website where he posts his best lesson plans to use in your classroom. All of his lessons are based around an image or a video, so it makes each one really really interesting and in my experience students love them.

He doesn't have too much stuff on there that's aimed for seriously low level kids, but if you teach students with elementary level English or above you' guaranteed to find something to use.

I found this website and his book 'images' when I was teaching adults earlier this year and the lesson plans really work. They're very clear and very engaging. Have a search for 'Western Spagetti' which is one that I always used with new classes. They love it!

Hope you can find something useful on there.

Thanks for sharing! If I had to sum up my teaching philosophy it would be: engagement, engagement, engagement. Nice to see a group of lessons that, at the very least, start there. Also, the website is wonderfully organized.

Thanks so much for this recommendation!  It looks more interesting and inspiring to teach than a lot of the "regular"  classes I have to do!
