Does anyone have any experience using or exposing students to the analogy questions seen on the US SAT tests? the ones of the format:
A:B :: C:?
I thought it might be interesting to give students an idea of the type of questions US high schoolers get on their standardized college entrance tests, but is this too over their heads? Obviously I'd keep it simple, but are the relationships between words different between languages? If anyone has any experience with teaching this, let me know, as I'd love to have some input before attempting a possibly disastrous activity. I'd probably make it into some sort of a game or something, with teams discussing possible answers, to give it more enjoyment.
