Thank you for the worksheet - I am using it as a brainstorm sheet for my activities for this class.

I am thinking of doing 'comparative' cards - incorporating a memory game where you have to match opposites in pairs or just match matching cards.

Or getting students to write on a paper what makes them happy.

I was thinking of using art work to generate understanding of emotions but I think that might be toooo advance for Grade 4.

Any thoughts, please?

Simon

Here is an introduction to some basic lesson vocab and a few new ones students may like:  happy, sad, tired, angry, worried, bored, scared, and in love.  With a matching game at the end.

And don't click on the pictures.  I can't figure out how to remove the hyperlinks on this computer...

basic vocab ppt plus something to get them to write and draw in their notebooks.  my school is stingy with paper and i typically have to submit whatever i want photocopied in advance.  this way it's all in their notebooks.

Here's a Simpsons Bomb Game and a Fill-in-the-Blank Feelings Bubble Powerpoint that teaches "not."

I did an intro powerpoint with my kids about feelings, then played the "cards in the bag" game. They enjoyed it a lot.

Preparation
- print out the document, laminate it and cut them into cards, then put them into separate bags

How to play
- students play in groups. In turn one student have to say the expression "I'm ____," then draw a card without looking. If the card matches the expression he/she can keep it, if not they have to put it back into the bag. If they draw a bomb card, all the cards they have must go back into the bag. The person with the most cards wins the game.

Good song for the kids to sing about feelings. Each line is echoed, so I usually have something that represents a mic to make it more enjoyable for the students.

@Ceilingof stars or anyone who could help:

Call me retarded, but I've always been a tad confused by how the wheel game works?? Just in terms of where and when to click what, after I've spun the wheel.

Your empathy and explanation is highly apprectiated :)

This is how I'll play the game with the students (THANK YOU, CeilingofStars!!):
-Split the class into 3
-Have one team pick an object on slide 3
-That will direct them to a question
-If they can answer the question or say the right emotion, then I'll click on "spin" and that will take me to the spin slide where I'll click on spin again.  The wheel stops automatically.  Add or subtract points accordingly.
-Then click on the button on the left side with the picture of the house that will take me to slide 3 with the remaining options.
-If the students get the question wrong, then I just click on the X, which will take me to the slide 3 with the remaining options.

Again, many thanks.  The card in a bag game looks great, too.

Attached is what I'll use to introduce the class to feelings.

Also attached is a revised version of the lucky wheel game.  I asked my cT to double check the Korean and she said she made it more polite, but I don't know any better.  Annnnd, I changed some pictures because I like animals.

Okkkkaaaaaayyy, have fun, and thanks again for the game.

Lesson 6 Presentation that was posted had some errors (doubles on the main slide).  I deleted those extras and provide a Korean translations for the key vocab.  Double check with a Korean on the translations.  Babel fish doesn't always give accurate translations.
I am often amazed at how much more capability and enthusiasm for science there is among elementary school youngsters than among college students.

Thank you so much for posting this! I looked on the net for some feelings/emotions games and none of them were really stimulating enough for my kids.

I included another game that my coteacher showed me, the kids also enjoyed this one as well.  ;)
