Zombie Shopping Game
« on: May 15, 2017, 02:40:23 PM »
This is a game I just made yesterday. I won't teach it until tomorrow, but I wanted to share it with you guys.

I'm using this game in a series of lessons on shopping. We've been talking about prices using English words, and this is sort of an intermission. I've bored ideas heavily from a lesson by user crishie2c (http://waygook.org/index.php?topic=85583.0.html) and the template is the minesweeper tracker (http://www.waygook.org/index.php/topic,3718.0.html).

How to play:
1. I will do this in groups. Each group will have a chance to randomly collect money on the first slide labeled "Get Money" (box A1 is an example box).
2. Once the kids have their money, they will be given a simple back story about how zombies are coming to the city (just replace with your city or school name), and they need to fight back.
3. The students will buy items they think are useful to fight zombies.
4. Once all the students buy their items and write them them down, I reveal the points for each item. Team with the most points wins a prize.

Right now the cost of the items and the points correlate (cheapest items are less valuable and vice versa), but you can move the points around by moving the pictures to different places or changing the point values behind the pictures.
