I used this listening game and the accompanying worksheet for period one with my
very
low level 4th graders. It went so well, I was actually shocked. By the end of class, even my 'problem' students and the kids who cannot read (there are several) were getting all the answers right.
Instructions:
Students draw a box on space 1 of their worksheet. Teacher gives some verbal directions for ss to draw relative to their box (Ex: The triangle is
under
the box.). The instructions are written on the slide as well. Once all directions are given, show the answers and check with students. Continue for 8 rounds, or as long as you wish.
Some notes:
- The first four rounds have 3 things to draw relative to the box. The last four rounds have 5.
- After each round, I had the students chorus the results with prompting. Ex: Teacher says 'the triangle is...' and students say 'under the box'.
-As my students are low level, I mimed the location words for the first few rounds until they got the hang of it.

Pass the Ball:
I found the template from somewhere on the website, and the pictures and questions and ideas from a past Cheonjae based "Pass the Ball" game. I am planning on using it for speaking practice. (students who can read can practice reading and speaking simultaneously). However, I review the phrase that has to be uttered, by every student passing the ball, in the slide prior to the actually bomb playing slide.
Bingo:
I found the template (by myrnaordona) in the thread for the last Cheonjae book and under the title, "Where is my bag?".
I slightly modified it to add vocab from this chapter and others.

Teacher reads the slide and the students draw a picture on their worksheet of the item and where it corresponds to the picture of what they heard.

PPT with new words and key expressions (in English and Korean), practice section, and a game.
For the game, print out a set of six cards for each student and have them cut them out. If you have them, give each student a cup. If not, then you can play with desks or chairs. Students listen to the teacher say a sentence and using the cards, illustrate the sentence. For example, the teacher says, "The book is under the cup." The students should place the book card under the cup. Or, "The book is under the desk/chair." You could really use anything as long as something can go on, in, and under it.

CAT-TLE SHIP GAME
In groups, everyone draws 1 cat on the board.
Group asks player: "Where is my cat?"
Players take turns answering: ex. "She's under the bed."
If someone has drawn their cat under the bed, they are out.
Rotate asking players until only one cat is remaining, that player is the winner.

Detective game: Where is the blah blah?
Divide class in two teams.
One side gets a gameboard with list of thing to find.
Other side gets a card with a thing and it's location.
First side gets up and asks students on the other side: "Where is my _____?"
If the card has the thing they are asking for, student 2 responds ex. "The pen is on the desk.", and student 1 writes down the thing in it's location.
If the card doesn't have the thing, student 2 responds "I don't know." and student 1 moves on and asks other students and tries to find all the things.
After about 5 minutes, collect the cards and switch teams.
Students whom have found the most things are the winners.

This was originally made by
Stefaneekaye
. It is action reading based on the words and expressions the students have been learning. Students will either jump, clap, or shout when they are reading. As they move through the phrases, the actions become more intense and frequent.

Here is a prepositions memory game. Students will see a scene for 5 seconds and they must try to remember where all the objects are. It can be used as motivation / review, or even as a writing activity as students can write their answers.
