Borrowed the intro template for the main PPT from someone else and edited it for this class.
Also edited a chase the vocab. game to practice their listening skills.

Key expression practice.  SpongeBob and Pikachu talk about what foods they like/don't like.

I like to use flashcards so have made some food flashcards - mostly using the textbook pictures plus a few more.
Also the key words sentences which I laminate and then attach magnets to the back to use them easily on the board.

[I use different colors for the question (Do you like ....?) , positive response (Yes, I do.) (I like ....), (I like ...., too) and negative response (No, I don't.) (I don't like ...)  It looks more attractive - especially for younger students.  I got this idea from a previous co-teacher.]

Here's a pass the pikachu game. I have a little stuffed doll of pikachu that I use instead of a ball. but you can use a ball if you don't have a pika. It has food vocab from the textbook and I threw in some Korean food as well to spice it up a bit. Enjoy!

Dunno if the person who made all the Showtime practice PPTs last semester is still around for this one (thanks for those btw) but seeing as how I have to teach the 4th period on Monday I took the liberty to make my own in a similar style to the previous ones.

ShowTime Practice: Pretty self explanatory. (Ideal for the 4th period)

Very useful - used for period 2. Thank you.
I have laminated coloured card and I stick the key expressions on their for each lesson, saves laminating every time.
Borrowed that idea from another teacher. Like the font you've used. Very clear and readable.

folder so far:

- Bang Card Game
- Battle Ninjas
- Guess Your Friend's Answer Game. I saw this activity in another book so I edited it and remade it to fit this lesson.
How to Play
  • Each student gets 1 worksheet.
  • Randomly select students to come up to the front.
  • Show the class a picture of a food (ex. cake). Have them ask the student who came to the front if they like it. ("Do you like cake?")
  • Give students time to guess what that students answer will be. They should mark their guess under the "My guess" column in the worksheet.
  • Afterwards, have the student in the front answer the question with either: "Yes, I do." or "No, I don't."
  • Students should draw either an "O" or "X" under the "friend's answer" column. If this matches with their guess, they get 1 point. If it's different, no points are awarded.
  • Keep playing until you finish the sheet or time runs out. Student with the highest points is the winner.

Here's a 'Hidden Picture Game' about food vocabulary. It's great as a warm up / intro activity.

Here's a video I made for this lesson. It's mostly for online classes, but I think it  can be used off-line as well. It beats whatever is in the text book imho...

Do you like chicken? I like chicken.

Odd letter out game for practicing spelling the key vocabulary.  Have the kids pick out the incorrect letter before time is up.   First 3 rounds: pick out 1 letter. Next 2 rounds: pick out 2 letters.  Last round: pick out 3 letters.

vocabulary: fish, milk, cake, pizza, cookies, chicken

Woody's Quick Draw~

It's played like the infamous cowboy game, but I think the harder to read font makes it a little more fun and challenging^^
