Current Kpop and Apop recommendations for school game?

I'm trying to update a music game I found, but I haven't been keeping up to date with what's currently popular with Korean students these days. Any 2020 recommendations?

You should probably clarify in the thread title it's for school games, as a lot of people here despise Kpop and will assume this is a fan thread and not even look.  I actually only clicked on it as I couldn't believe someone was trying to get a conversation about good Kpop started on this site.

Why not poll your students? This seems like a perfect opportunity for kids to write about things that are important to them, and you can get input from, like, 30 kids at a time!

Just make a small work sheet with small blanks after questions like "What's your favourite K-Pop group?, "What's their best song?" etc!

But to answer part of the question, my elementary girls are still completely <3 <3 over BTS, and a fair number of my boys appreciate Twice.

My grade 5 & 6 students seem to really like BTS, Blackpink and Twice. I also have a few grade 5 students who are Katy Perry fans. I'm not sure about other popular artists/groups, though.

I did use to poll my students fairly regularly about their favorite music, and rarely did the top groups carry over from one year to the next. It’s remarkable that you say BTS, Blackpink, and Twice are among the top for your students, because these were the top three when I stopped teaching back in 2018 as well, and I feel like they had already been atop the charts for at least a year prior. That’s like Big Bang (RIP) staying power. I somehow doubt any 5th graders are listening to JYP or Zico though...

I agree with all of these, from both a high school teacher and a Kpop fan standpoint.  And, to this list, I add:

The most current-ish A-pop songs Korean kids seem to like are

Tones And I - Dance Monkey
Anne-Marie - 2002
Billie Eilish - bad guy
Jawsh 685, Jason Derulo - Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat) / or the BTS remix
Drake - Toosie Slide

There are a few other ones making the rounds, but often there are swears, or objectionable, words that I don't want the hassle of explaining. So, I try to avoid them, or cut the vids short.
