Do you visit the weed store when you're back home?
« on: June 01, 2021, 12:46:14 pm »
I have two friends who recently returned to North America. One a seventeen
year vet here in Korea the other a twenty-seven year vet. Both lost their
jobs mostly to the rural demographics.

The long timer used to buy weed and smoke on a regular basis. The shorter
termer never smoked. But wasn't averse to the idea.

I text them regularly. Mostly to get their weed store stories.  But, neither have
purchased any of the ganga. What gives? This was my dream when I was
Younger. WTF.

What were the rural area jobs they lost? Public school / uni / something else? Sad / surprising all that experience wasn’t able to save them. Unable to get hired in more populous areas of Korea?

You seem to exemplify what can be termed "glandular thinking"- Your thought processes and priorities are driven by your glands.

Where should I live? Whatever place satusfies my lust
What should I do there? Dopamine drip of alcohol and partying.
What would I do back home? Dopamine drip of drugs.

Glandular thinking. One step above animal instinct.

Weed makes me crazy, but when I retire I’ll go back to full time use.

I was on topic.

You asked "What gives?"
I offered an explanation.
You didn't understand it.
I explained it. I then explained why you might be confused, given that you are a glandular thinker.

Being the glandular thinker that you are, you weren't able to focus on the events of the past, comprehend a progression of events, and just lived in the moment so to you it seemed like things were off-topic. Possibly due to years of chemical abuse.

Right. Is that good crazy or bad crazy?

Both but not conducive to holding a job and being social.

This thread is about two guys who have had to return home due to shifting demographics in rural Korea.  Please stop trying to steer the conversation to weed.  Let's stay on topic, please and thank you.

Now, have these two gents ever considered China?

As a teenager I remember these things. But as an adult I would probably
smoke in moderation.

If being wasted on a regular basis and not being able to hold down a job
is a consequence of this, is this what's happening in North America
these days?

Up in smoke!

No, weed is illegal still in my country. I also don't like the smell, and don't like smoking in general.

I’m only speaking of my physiological response to it. I’d rather get high than drunk.

More DRUG talk on the forums, I see. I'm sure this makes the educator community look REALLY professional to any Korean who sees this. and we wonder why wages are going down.

I hate the stuff. Seen too many good friends throw every opportunity away because of it.My sophomore roommate in college used to stink the dorm out with the stuff. Eventually I put a call in to the campus police, and let's just say he could kiss his scholarship goodbye....

Thunderlips, hard as it may seem to you, there plenty of people that don't use drugs, smoke or drink. Never have and never will.
There is no known medical cure for stupidity!

I don't think Thunderlips is advocating drugs as much as she is calling out a rat.
