I have been teaching in Guangzhou for 12 years. I teach in a public middle school and high school. My PPT are all high quality as they have been changed almost every year to meet my high standards. Yes, my PPT are very long and many of them have few words. This is because I teach oral English and I think it is better for my students to hear me talk than to read the words. My classes are 40 minutes long, and some of my PPT are split into 2 lessons. If you are in China and you would like to contact me, my QQ number is 1182497989.This is one of the few games I play with my students. I play ME vs THEM. I get to guess which of their 3 sentences is a lie. I choose one student and then show them a famous person in the PPT and let them guess which of the 3 is a lie. The key here is to teach them so many things can be opinions. I make them remove any sentence that is an opinion such as: I am good at ___. I am tall/short. My hair is long. I live far from the school. These are all opinions and I show them that they must be facts. (you may think you live far from your school, but the people in Brazil think you live close to the school. etc)I start with a warm up video and i stop the video when the dragon starts to blow fire. then i come back to the video at the end of class.
Two truths and a lie is my least favorite ice breaker.
My students always do the same thing:"I have a cat. I am 16 years old. Eric Zhou isn't gay. Which is a lie?"
