Awesome :D I'll be using this in my after school conversation class. Great way to get them debating about who goes and who stays! Thanks!

Nice! I'm gonna try to incorporate zombies into my summer camp. Hopefully my co-teacher will approve!

I just scrolled through your ppt and I have to say very nice job.  I used vitamin-d's version during my last winter session with some of my advanced kids and they really enjoyed it.  I'm sure I'll have just as much success with your version.  Thanks for sharing and, again, well done.

You are a LIFE SAVER.  I'm always stumped what to do with my middle school boys.  Yea I can do boring vocabulary and topics with them but I prefer to do fun lessons with them as much as I can.  Even my incredibly frustrating 2nd years that all the teachers have trouble controlling were so focused.  They loved the powerpoint!  I even had students in the back standing up to see what was going on more clearly.  Also, Mr. Panda and Doraemon were huge hits.  Thank you so so much!!

So cool! I really appreciate how you added a bit of humor to make it less scary. My girls are a bit jumpy:) Thanks!

Very good, but just a heads up the last slide the math is wrong. It should be 0 + 3 + 6 = 9 because the Beckham is -2 not +2.

Hi Leo,

I just wanted to say thank you for the cleaner version of the original.

The true nature of my post is that I agree fully with your philosophy. I am also quite jealous because it seems as if in your school, you have complete control of how and what you teach. Whereas I teach from a text book. I would rather find something of interest which would provoke students to want to participate and inquiry. These ways naturally build creativity, logic, and the students' vocabulary.

I think I may use it if it correlates to the objectives of my lessons.

Thanks my Canadian brother (I'm assuming from your name).

There's are pros and cons to each approach. My focus on teaching culture and tertiary knowledge (relative to the school curriculum) may result in the students having a lesser understanding of the core curriculum, since, there is always an opportunity cost.

Also, I spend a considerable amount of time making each lesson from scratch...I guess making beautiful lessons has turned into a hobby of sorts, but I'm still spending more time outside of school making these lessons than I'd like. Then again, I'm not the most efficient guy (i.e. heavy procrastinator)

Leo, I highly respect your lessons

They are extremely entertaining and designed to cater to the situation where teaching becomes more of a struggle to motivate than to educate.

Please keep sharing them.

Thanks Orange. I'll try to upload at least 2 or 3 more quality lessons before I leave Korea. Unfortunately, I can't maintain this level of quality for each of my lessons, so I can't pump out lessons like these on a weekly basis. I've got a few ideas that might be able to shatter a few paradigms though, which was what I was attempting to do with the "What is Beauty" lesson.

Hi Leo,

My students and I really appreciated your hard work on this lesson.

I wanted to practice the can grammar a little further, so I made a couple of extension sheets. The magic life-ring is a very simple extension task for good students, the matching task I used with my elementary kids for a bit more practice.

Also, in the main lesson, I gave my students a chance to argue with the reasoning for extra points. It really forces them to try to prove me wrong for a few extra points.

Great work on the documents Alex. I contemplated giving my advanced students the option of arguing for or against the validity of my point system, but in the end, none of my classes were able to finish the lesson quick enough to get to it. What sort of arguments did you get from your students?

The couple of the ones I got were:

- It takes a while to get to Jeju, and so the sun will come up and Mr. Beckham will turn to dust, leaving you free to take his house and weapons. (This is not to say he wouldn't bite you first of course, but I gave them 4 extra points).

- Even if Doraemon isn't real, you could just tear off his magic pocket and use it. (I had to point out that if he isn't real, it's unlikely his pocket is either, but this made me laugh so I gave them a bonus point).
