Couldn't find a thread for this, so here's what I've got for review this week.

- Worksheet with dialogs, a couple of review activities and a vocab wordsearch
- A really simple Jeopardy game, hopefully keep them focused on reviewing the material rather than the game

REVIEW 1: Lessons 1-4

This is a huge review PPT that I made from multiple other PPTS.  Thanks to all the original uploaders!!

I tried to keep it simple, with just a few slides for review and then a basic game for each lesson.  Lesson 3, I kept all the Simpsons sentence practice slides, since I never had time to show that one during the regular lesson.

I also found a Lesson 1-4 review game (SpongeBob) in the Lesson 4 thread:  http://waygook.org/index.php/topic,32182.msg241462.html#msg241462

Angry Birds games for lessons 1-3 (for my school's midterm) and lessons 1-4 (the review lessons). They are extremely similar. Thanks to the original creator of the template!

Grade 5 Review Chapters 1-4 YBM Maria Oh
I used a template from last year to make an Angry Bird review game for chapger 1-4.
They try to gather the most birds. I printed out the birds, laminated, and put on a magnet so that I could stick them up on the board. They loved seeing the brightly colored birds on the board. I hope you have as much fun as I did with this game!

Dialog making activity.  I made a blank comic strip featuring the Annoying Orange (screen shots from the "Wazzup" episode that I showed during Lesson 1).  The second page is entirely blank, so the students can make up their own conclusion.

You can simply show the PPT slide on the TV and have them speak, or print it out and put them in groups to write their own comic.  That's what I did, and the kids really enjoyed it.

I also wrote some pertinent words on the chalk board, such as the names of the fruits and especially "knife!" to help the students with spelling.

Just found these posted on YBM's site...the English instructions for the review activities.

Hope they help!

I really don't like the review lesson for part 2 of this book, as the chapters 5 through 8 review section has one good board game and then a rather unfeasible idea for the kids to create their own travel brochure, and then instructs them to just discuss the picture, which I don't think would fill a 40 minute class very well.

I went ahead and made my own Jeopardy game with just paper cards on a larger posterboard, and made categories like When is It? Where is It? Who's calling? etc.

I based most of the questions on the picture of the museum and basically test their knowledge.

Ex: What time does the museum open on Saturday?

I'll have some additional categories like true/false to fill time, and one on English language movies.

I'll bring treats for the winning team.

Here are two PPTs that I used to review lessons 5-7 (for our final test next week).  Almost entirely copied from existing PPTs from various places.  Thanks to whoever it is that did the original hard work to make them!

The first one has review for each lesson (reading/guessing the correct sentence), and then a simple reading (fill in the blank) game.  I have a ring toss and big die that I used to play the game, but you could modify it to some other point system.  It can take the whole forty minutes, depending on how long you spend on the reading part before the game.  (I never made it more than 1/2 way through the game slides.)

The second one is a re-modified Pokemon game to cover our book's lessons.  It actually filled the whole class with about 5 minutes to spare (or less)!

A review powerpoint made up of a bunch of dialogs from each story land - good for practice. At the end there's a build-your-own story if your kids are that advanced. We'll see if mine are.

My students really enjoy the Zombie Game so I made a review for lessons 1-8. It includes 3 slides per lesson. For those who haven't played the Zombie Game: when the slide changes colors, students will need to either stand up or sit down. The slowest student to change their position will be out; I have them sit or stand in the black of the class. There will be slides with numbers on them (all students have numbers in their homeroom classes), if they see their number, they have to answer the question. If they answer correctly, they can stay in game, if they were out of the game, they can return. Lastly, if they see a zombie on the slide, they need to freeze. If they move, they are out. Enjoy!

Review Materials for Lessons 9-11, for the midterm this week.

1) Review PPT practice making sentences for each lesson (9-11).  Made from other PPTs I already had, so thanks original creators/posters!

2) Kaboom Game.  This is a non-PPT game that can be played many ways.  I used an old Pringles can, which I covered with the "Kaboom" label.  Then I printed the question/word/sentence cards, laminated them, and put them in the can.

One student at a time draws a card and does what it says.  If they draw "Kaboom" they lose points, or another team loses points, or they switch points (and one Kaboom makes all teams lose points).  If they can't answer, you can give minus one, or let their team help them.

Some of the questions are kinda hard ("What is 'adjective' in Korean?"), so I added the rule that if they miss, they will have to try again later (if enough time).

* Make sure to change the sentences with my or my co-teacher's name!  (Rebecca and Mr. Kim)

EDIT: The Kaboom game was pretty much chaos.  Since only 1 student could see the question, most of the class just ignored what was going on...  Next time, I'll make the questions on a PPT and use the Kaboom cards only for scoring.

Here's a ZIP file of the entire Teachers Book in English.

The individual files are already available for each lesson, but here's the whole thing at once.

Thanks to one of the Korean teachers at my school for finding and downloading this for me!  And thanks to mavsfan5 for posting (almost) the whole thing already.

This comes from the YBM website without any changes, so the file names are all in Korean, but I checked at least a few files and they're in English!  Not sure why some files are .doc and most are .hwp, but hopefully you have both Office and Hangeul on your work computer.

Review materials for lessons 1-7

The font "GROBOLD" is for the review practice PPT. No need to use it, but just in case.

The Handfish fonts are for the worksheets. I highly suggest downloading and installing it (it only takes a second to install), otherwise it'll look horrible, and the writing lines won't appear. That way, you can also edit the questions as you like. If you don't care for that, then I uploaded a PDF versions as well.

My head teacher said certain topics would be on the final test that everyone takes. Using those topics she told me what chapters to make a review over. So here is the final's test review worksheet I made for my fifth grade.
