Love the games.
I did a similar game called Name 3 Things.
I used the attached PPT to introduce the lesson. I walk through the slides asking the class to name 2 things based on the prompt.
At first the slide has the written instructions. This is for higher level learners.
Then a image appears. This helps lower level students understand.
Then 1 example appears. This helps the lowest level students understand.
I go through the entire PPT so the students understand the exercise.
Then I let the students work in pairs to Name 3 Things using the attached game board.

I have to make my own lessons for 40 grade 3 students and today I played "Give me 5" and it worked wonderfully. The students were so focused on being the first to win. They were in groups of four and each group has one advanced student that helps with English.
I spent the whole class on this activity. Very successful. Thanks for the idea.

These games would be great for my after school classes. And I like the fact that they cater to different student levels. Thanks~ ^.^

Hi there,
Just wanted to throw a quick game idea out there that another teacher taught me. This game is called "Don't Hit the Teacher." You'll need a ball with suction cups that sticks to the whiteboard. Here's how it works...
Stand in front of the white board and draw concentric circles around yourself. The farther away from you, the less points. Closer to you, more points. Let them know that if the ball hits you, it's minus a lot of points.
Have them line up at a long enough distance that they're throwing accuracy is going to be a little bit compromised. Have some sort of material ready to quiz them on and one by one, give them a question related to whatever you've been studying. If they get it right, they get one throw. Some students are going to want to get a lot of points. Some students are going to hit you by accident. Some of them are going to hit you on purpose. Either way it's going to be funny, and they're going to laugh a lot when you cover your face/groin with a book in anticipation of their throw. This is a great way to burn some time and get some review in as well.

@tastytom I'm nit sure I would like my students throwing things at me....haha. But its a good idea. Sometimes you have a few minutes to spare and its not enough to start with more wok, so these games are pretty helpful and we should look at finding more. I know teachers will appreciate it.

Thanks Sonya for great games ideas and PPT!
Here is a Jeopardy game that I used in my grade 1 classes.
Divide the class into 5-6 teams and give them a mini white board and marker (my school had them already so I used it alot for activities and games but if not, ask the school if they can buy them or if they can't, you can buy them in the stationary shops in Korea). They have to work as a team to come up with the answer. Give them about 20 sec to discuss and write the answer on the mini whiteboard and they have to hold it up to show me the answers. Correct answers get 1 point and for more difficult vocabulary, if they get spelling correct I gave them 2 points! Team with the most points wins the game. it's really fun and great way to check grammar and review what they learnt so far (It's a lot like a Korean quiz program, Golden Bell).
This is my first time sharing on this waygook.org. I will share more lessons that worked really well in my middle school.
Enjoy :D

@Tastytom, i think this game sounds great :) as long as it is something soft being thrown. The students must get a great kick out of this game and i am definitely going to try this.
Thanks :)

Molany,
Jeopardy is always a great game...that are lots on here to choose from! Thanks for adding one!
For those of you who don't want/can't purchase whiteboards, here are a couple of options...
1. Use those plastic holders in binders you see everywhere and put a blank piece of paper in there... you can also put blank forms in there like the scattergories one for students to fill in.
2. Laminate a piece of paper...I use coloured paper and put a team name on it with some stickers on it or something...you can use these over and over again!
Another game I like to play to practice vocabulary is the fly swatter game. I haven't tried it with my large classes...only my small ones. I scatter the vocabulary words all over the board. Put the students into 2 teams and give the first one on each team a flyswatter. Say the word and the first student to hit the right words earns a point for their team. This game has never failed to please!

It's always nice to have something in your back pocket that doesn't rely on technology as a backup!

Yeah it is!
"Would You Rather" is a good game to use. If you search the site there's a PPT for it...but it really doesn't need one.
All you do is ask the students would you rather questions, for example would you rather eat only american or Korean food forever (all my kids said American!). Once they're warmed up they get really into and speak quite a lot of English, than you can get them to make up their own questions to ask the class.
