Lots of Koreans love Manchester United. And so do I. Where do you think they'll finish this year? I've got them 3rd and heading to the Champions League.

Koreans don't love Manchester United, they love whatever EPL team a Korean happens to be playing for in any given year. As soon as Park Ji Sun left Man Utd they stopped showing the games and everyone started to support Swansea instead. With the amount of money they've spent/will spend anything less than first place will be a disappointment.

Arsenal fan here.  I think United will finish second.  I think it'll take a year for the players to gel with Jose, but given the squad they have, it'll be hard to beat them.  Arsenal will finish fourth and offer Wenger a 5 year extension probably

Arsenal fans don't appreciate what they have in Wenger. After the mob forces him out, they'll be greeted a carousel of feckless leaders and inconsistent finishes and be lucky to sniff Champions League football.

I started liking Man U due to Cristiano and then liked them even more after Park Ji Sung played there.

That being said, I'm very excited to see some ZLATAN hopefully tear up the Premier League. With him and Mourinho, Man U should place Top 4.

I think Zlatan is quite the character, and he's still quite good as a target man, centre-forward.

Go Zlatan!  :police:

They just beat last year's champs by the score of 2-1. Zlatan had the game winner. Things are looking up. I'm not expecting a first place finish, but I do see champions league in the future. But what do I know?   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

As someone who has defended Wayne Rooney in the past, I now admit he should be nowhere near the starting lineup.

Rooney's performances is one of the main things that got van Gaal sacked. At this point, I don't know what he offers on the pitch anymore. If anything, he looks even worse than the start of last season.

If mourinho makes the same mistake by playing Rooney constantly or relying on Rooney to win matches, he'll be toast too. Pogba should either play box to box alongside schniderlin/Herrera with mata in the hole, or shniderlin plus Herrera with pogba playing no.10

It'll take a few months for the team to really get going though...but exciting times ahead!

Thankfully Spurs signed 손흥민 so I don't have to sit and watch Swansea's back four playing pass the parcel with the keeper for 90 mins. So many times last season it was Arsenal vs XX or Leicester vs XX and they put bloody Palace vs watford or some dross on because there is a Korean in the kitchen staff at Palace or something.

As for Man United looks like they'll do alright. They've spent about as much as my wife spends on those sticky roller thingys for collecting the dust off the floor so they should be up there.

Arsenal have no chance this season. Another shameful transfer window by Wenger. I know he's a good manager but he's so stubborn. He treats the club's money like it were his own. I wonder if he buys the no frills cornflakes over Kellogs at the supermarket? I bet he does. I think they have one centre back with 2 working legs to last until October or something. At least Walcott might find his best position.

Chelsea, meh. If Hazard can be arsed they'll win the league. Hate Chelsea though.

Citeh, top 3. Could struggle against the shite teams playing tika taka against Stoke ain't gonna work.

Liverpool and Spurs batting it out for the champions league scraps.

My team Sunderland, probably get relegated.

Yeh after the window I'm tipping united to win it. Last year aside, it's been obvious whose going to win the league over the last five years or so based on signings in the window. It seems to be becoming increasingly important.

Agreed I think Arsenal will drop out the top four. i dont think chelsea will win it, unless they sign another striker, i think it's a Manchester battle for the top two.

I think Sunderland will be ok. Moyes is a wily old bugger and he'll grind out enough results to keep you up. it won't be exciting though. My team Newcastle...... never mind.

The big question sis where Leicester will finish. It's a really fascinating one. I hope not too low, but I think with the demands of Champions league football they might be lucky to get top half. One of the reasons i say this is that i think they'll progress in the champions league. Not many teams in Europe will be used to playing against their style of play, and I think they might spring a couple of surprises.

Yes. i think he is. It's ridiculous the money being paid, but he's 23, has good stats, a good injury record, room to improve, and most importantly, star power. they estimate making 40 mil back from him in the first year due to marketing alone.

It's a shame football has gone this way but if you afford to pay it, it's worth it.

Zidane went for £46M in 2001

15 years later, the hottest young prospect in European football (world perhaps?) is going for roughly double that amount.

He's a proven winner and a consistent performer. Of course he shouldn't have left in the first place...but that was largely United's fault with their youth wage structure and SAF's stubbornness, along with the agent.

As for Pogz being pissed about missed opportunities back then, he'd played in a few first team matches and wasn't noticeable, although he was ripping it up in the reserves...so it wasn't rocket science for the manager to not want to put the club's title hopes in the second half of the season on the shoulders of an 18 year old rookie, those are the kind of margins that could destroy a player's potential for good.

Plus the very real possibility that had he stayed back then, he probably wouldn't be with the club today with the way the last 3 years have gone. Madrid would have snapped him up for £30-40M.

I don't think he'll be at United for the rest of his career though...he might move on to Madrid or Barca in 4-6 years time when he's in his prime. At the very least, United would have gotten a magnificent player for most of his best years, and the club would definitely recoup the transfer cost back in marketing and his future transfer fee.

Pogba was dross at the euros to be fair. But I'd rather have him than Michael Carrick in my team.

Is that 500 million in three seasons then? I'd be embarrassed to be associated with that tbh.
