This lesson is similar to: 1. What Grade Are You In? from the 2015 book.

Intro PPT and 'cheat sheet.'

Intro PPT begins with a character dialogue with two characters I created (last 2 hidden pages of PPT have all four expressions I created for the 2 chars). You can either change your voice to read to students or have CT be other character to present the dialogue. Changed the vocab to focus on ordinals.

Cheat sheet - relists the ordinals and includes 7th-10th. Also provides a larger vocab reference for using present participle in describing 'I like ____ing XYZ." Tried to find the best Korean translations I could; didn't have anyone around to verify if my translations were correct for PPT or worksheet. Modify as you need to.

I repurposed a couple old PPTs to make one for this new book. Be sure to check this post every now & again as I'll be editing it if/when I make more files for the later parts of the lesson.

All Periods Intro: Pretty self explanatory. (Ideal for all periods)

Find the Star reading game: Very similar to the elimination game if you've ever played it. I divide the class into two teams, students take turns reading one of the boxes on the PPT, teacher clicks it to remove it and points are either won or lost. (Ideal for the third or fourth period)

Kakao Talk Game: I'm planning to use this during the 6th period for review. (Ideal for the sixth period)

1.2 - Edited and updated a PPT on spelling - themed 'Your Name' since the kids love that movie and it fits with the theme of spelling their names.

Re-did a Find the Suspect PPT/game to include the hobbies/present participles in the lesson. Students can refer to the cheat sheet previously posted if necessary. PPT and Suspect cards attached.

1.3 PPT for watching Tangled - "When Will My Life Begin" and associated worksheet. Rapunzel mentions a lot of hobbies in the song so they can put the simple form of the verb in the blanks. Then in the PPT, it asks students to identify the order of her day (feel free to put more ordinals in, I just took screenshots from the Youtube video for pictures). It also asks what her hobbies are/what she likes doing to use more of the present participle. There are a lot of responses you can get back from that question.

The worksheet has both the lyrics in English and Korean with a few blanks. (Printed front and back) The other side has a  blank comic strip. After the students go through and answer all of the PPT, they can take popular characters or make their own and draw a comic using all of the key expressions. If there's extra time, you could ask the students to find a partner; rock, paper, scissors for whose comic to use; and role play it in front of the class.

1.4 - PPT for reading using modern animation characters instead of the book reading. Has some hidden words for students to use vocabulary by looking at pictures. Then a partner activity interviewing one another using expressions.

1.5 - Used the Secret Message PPT/concept from the 2015 book thread and made a worksheet using these words. Secret message = "Do you like learning English at Tapdong Elementary?" You can replace name of school in the worksheet. Other side of worksheet is a word search and fill in the blank if they finish the secret message quickly. I did not make the PPT but am reattaching it into this thread to explain how to do the secret message.

Hi. I was searching through the CD-ROM to see what new additional materials are included and found this. If you're unable to access them. Let me know and I'll send you the rest of the book from the other discs.

Sparkle Die! My kids begged for this one. I used it during 1.5 but it would be fine for 1.4, 1.5 or 1.6.
Credits to the original maker - I've just changed the dialogue to match this book.

Seems like similar lesson to other grade 6 books.

Here is a simple 'Ladder Game' and a YouTube video on how to play the ladder game. Good for practicing reading of the target language. You can download the pdf of the ladder game below and below is a link to the Youtube video to show the students how to play.

Hope it's helpful to someone.

Final bomb style game for the chapter/Lesson. Uses a lot of gifs for the hobbies, asks students to spell the ordinals, and relate them to grades, etc.

This ppt covers the whole lesson. I basically keep everything in one file. It covers the rules for the class, new terms, and has games for each section of the book. The Korean may or may not be correct. I had my co-teacher check it but sometimes...they be lazy.

Fun game to review the key expressions of the chapter.  I designed this template and have been using it for a while.  A nice change of pace from the average bomb game. After answering a question, 3 shells are shuffled and the "it" team must choose 1 of 3 to open.  So basically it's a shell game where the teams have to keep there eye on the reward they would like to get after answering a question correctly. I call it "shuffle shells."

This is a PPT our school is going to use for online classes. I also posted a PPT for the 5th grade lesson, so I will just post here what I said there.

We took the PPT from the book and I recorded my voice over the slides.  :lipsrsealed: :blank: This was the first PPT we did for online classes, so it is a bit awkward (well, I think all of them are a bit awkward) but I hope they get better as we do more! Most of the slides are key words and key expressions, and the last slides are ordinal numbers practice. My teachers wanted music with the lesson, so I found some royalty free music from  bensounds.com.

If you would like to use this PPT and record your own voice, from the first slide my voice over is the speaker on the right. You can delete those and then record your voice. On the first slide, the speaker for the music is on the left. It is set to play at the lowest volume on a loop for the entire presentation. If you want to keep the music, don't delete the left speaker on the first slide!

Korean English Teachers: you are welcome to use this PPT with my voice for your school.

If you need to change the PPT to a video, you can use the export feature to to convert it to a mp4, however, it doesn't work with all versions of Office. It doesn't work on my (Apple) laptop, but it does on my work (Windows based) computer. It takes a few minutes for it to covert, and it will look like it isn't doing anything, but wait and it will show up as a mp4. On our computers it shows up on the desktop.

I made a story in powerpoint using the target language. Then made a movie with a screen recorder app by clicking through the slides while voicing over.  It's like in the textbook when kids listen to the story and then repeat everything the second time through. I uploaded it for part 2, to practice speaking
I'm including the powerpoint if you want to voice over yourself as well as the recorded one.
