YuGiOh game added.  YuGiOh is a popular card game / anime from Japan.
For those of you who have been playing the original Pokemon game with your students, your students and you have probably grown bored of seeing the same Pokemon each game.  I made a quick Version 2 of the game with new Pokemon to keep it exciting.  The first version was pretty heavy with the original Pokemon, but I think kids these days are more acquainted with the newer Pokemon, so I included more of those this time.

Enjoy

Notes about this game:

There are two versions of this game.
The full version includes a mini story intro to set the scene for the game.
The lite version does not include the story intro and goes straight to the rules.

Let me be the first to say that you sir are a gentleman. The Pokemon game totally rocked in my third grade class. They were noisy and shouting and wouldn't respond to my bells for quiet, but that's a good thing; they're usually quiet and try to fly under the radar. I pretended to be angry with them, but my co-teacher and I were secretly patting ourselves on the back. Having the poke ball shake around a bit before revealing the Pokemon was pure genius. It built up anticipation and I don't know any of the monsters beyond the original 150, but there were a lot of good controversy as to which monster merited certain XP. I wasn't sure about the Team Rocket part, but it worked out brilliantly when one team was collecting too much XP and everybody was brought back to a clean slate.

Overall, brilliant game. My favorite bomb game so far. Look forward to what else you've got cooking for us.

Quite the review, can't wait for this to get into circulation in the lesson threads.

This looks awesome and I'm sure my kids will absolutely love it!
Want to use it for my Grade 4 class on Friday...
I downloaded the fonts and did everything as you said but I don't have any points on mine... just the Pokemon appearing from the bubble.
I saw on the preview slides that there were xp points on the slides... I don't know where I've gone wrong?

:o Phenomenal.  Thanks for an amazing game.

I had one glitch with the Team Rocket slide.  Clicking the 'R' does not send me back to the homepage; there is no link that I can find on the Team Rocket slide.

Cheers

Thank you!  I'm thrilled and flattered that you and your students had so much fun with it.
I'll admit that I'm not current on the Pokemon of 2011 either, ahaha.  You may see a little bias for the original 150 that I'm also familiar with.  One student told me that Alakazam (5 points in the game) is a weak Pokemon.  I could have sworn he was a beast when I played back in the day.

I think the "all teams lose points" slide is a good one for games.  When one team loses points, it's kind of a bummer, but if everyone loses points, even the winning team isn't too upset because the field is level again.
Thanks for the comment!

The XP and "XYZ has been caught!" text should appear automatically after the moving ball has been clicked.
I would open up microsoft word and try checking to see if the required fonts are on the font list.  If they aren't, they may not have been properly installed.
Let me know.

Wow, you're right.  That's a big problem.  I'm not sure how that slipped out of the final version.   I fixed it and am trying to upload it but Waygook is moving slower than a snail's pace and giving me internet problems 3/4 into upload.  I'll re-upload it as soon as I get home today.
Thanks for the glitch notice, I appreciate it.

FONT INSTALL GUIDE
The easiest way to install new fonts on your school's Windows XP computer

Step 1.

Step 2.

Step 3.
Open up the computer's control panel.  (Refer to picture if unsure how)

Step 4.
Open the "fonts" folder.

Step 5.
Right click and paste, or simply control + v.  The fonts should install automatically.

Step 6.
Re-open the Powerpoint, and play!

Haha you're welcome!
There was a problem with the link in the Team Rocket slide that Justanotherwaygook mentioned.
I fixed the problem and re-uploaded it.
If you have time, I recommend grabbing the newer version  :D

Niiiice!

It might be worth putting a warning in your FAQ to people NOT to download the fonts directly to the "Fonts" directory. "Fonts" isn't a directory per se, and any means of directly adding stuff to it such as by downloading will cause the font install to fail. You have to "copy" it using Windows (copy & paste, or drag & drop) for it to use its dark magic powers.

This is beautiful, it brings back memories.

Does this only work for Windows, or am I missing something?
Mac user here...the Pokeball seems to shake forever and that's all it seems to do?
