The One Stop PPT Game Template Spot.
« on: December 14, 2009, 09:15:12 pm »
Quote
MOD: A one stop spot for game templates.

This is a place for all members to post their games to share with the community.  I would encourage members who have posted game templates previously, to move them here so they can gain the views and downloads they deserve without being dropped down the list due to new threads.

Put one game and related attachments per post.  In that post, please put a description including, how many questions, some of the basic rules, any other special materials or instructions as needed
.

All thank yous and comments will be split off into this thread periodically

I'm not sure who passed along this idea to me, but it's been a complete success in my 4,5,6 classes. It's a lot like th bomb game- Make a grid, hyperlink it, questions etc etc.

But the twist is in that you start every team with 4 hearts. A correct answer nets you one of 3 icons: A bomb (Lose a heart), a Heart (Gain a heart) or a Laser (Pick another team to lose a heart). They LOVE that there's some interactivity and something video game-y about it. I've uploaded a template I've been using the last month or so, I also have a winter/Christmas themed one I'll upload tomorrow.

Typhoon is mainly a review game that I heard about from other teachers.  There's a grid of questions where a student from a group picks a square to which there will be a question to answer and a corresponding point awarded if correct.  However under some of the squares there could be the word "TYPHOON" which allows a team to choose another team to lose all their points.

To be honest I haven't even played this game yet but I know my students will probably like this as they liked a similar game that was found on www.eatyourkimchi.c om called "Kaboom!"

I decided to make my own ppt template and it took quite a while to figure out the animations!  If you want to change the # of Typhoons, point denominations etc, you can move the Typhoon icons around and write in the text box under them.  Be careful when moving stuff around as all of the Typhoon icons and individual square names (A1, A2) are to be together at all times or else the animations will get out of order!

Oh right now the Typhoons are under: A3, B1, B5, C3, D1, and E1

Now to make up the corresponding questions!

BRRRAP quiz w/ 50 cent
« Reply #2 on: September 12, 2010, 09:30:38 pm »
silly adaptation of the bomb game, it's got the questions from my "I'm your new teacher" lesson but they're easiy changed. elementary kids go bananas for it, I taught them the fiddy finger point and made them all shout BRRRRRRAP whenever he popped up. Now they all go brrrrap at me in the corridor haha. They've never heard of him though so I just called him "the BRRRRAP man".

Update; it now has fiddy, craiiiig daaaavid and alan partridge in it. and the questions are all general, it's a time filler for emergencies - essentially a funnier version of the typhoon game. i'm aiming it at 4th-6th grade.
change question 12 as it only applies to my class. (slide 22)
and fixed the broken 16 ^_^

Conversation Spin the Wheel
« Reply #6 on: October 04, 2010, 03:09:13 pm »
to start the wheel click anywhere on the slide.

make the students say "1,2,3 stop" and then press any number to pause the wheel. They answer the question and then press the button next to number 1 (i dont know the name) to start the animation again.

hi, i think even if its in korean you can just click on the text box and change the words in english. Make sure you dont copy and paste but change the actual exsisitng textbox otherwise it wont work properly.

I changed the mario game so that the students have to pick letters rather than boxes. Please see the original game for a guide on how to play

I'm not an artist - so thought I'd make a PPT to use for this idea I saw on Dave's ESL cafe.

1st attatchment: Here is a racing car game I made, has lots of sound files.
2nd attatchment: here is an improved version, the hyperlinks were a bit funny on the old one..

This is a bomb style game with 25 questions.
It was posted as a template, but is already filled in with material related to 'giving directions'

Bingo Lemon Water.

I'll never ever put it in a lesson plan except for those grades in primary school still learning the alphabet. So pretty much 3rd graders. Doesn't stop me from having it on hand as an optional bit of fun though, such as when older students enter the class (as in the 2-3 mins before the lesson starts).

I've attached a spooky monster version that involves no hanging for Halloween for those interested.

Spongebob Squarepants Game
« Reply #14 on: November 02, 2010, 03:50:42 pm »
Here is a spongebob game template I made just for the fun of it. It is my first time to make a game so it may have some glitches please let me know if it does. When you click on the stars you must click on the lower right longest arm or it will take you to a different slide. Also, in the bonus round if you click on SPONGEBOB it will take you to the closing sequence, or you can choose to skip the bonus round and just click on the end. Feel free to change it as you wish.

I only have the Korean version of ppt and I've spent about 15 mins trying to figure out how to insert sounds.
Can you either a) tell me how to switch the language to English or b) do you know what the words are in Korean for insert sound? ^^
Thank you!!
