I got the new 2nd grade book too.  Guess it'll give me something to do because I worked really hard on the 1st grade book last year so my material is pretty good.

Maybe I'll go over chapter 1 tomorrow.  Booo for lesson planning on vacation.

If you have posted stuff on this index, please remove it and post it where it belongs. I will delete those posts on Friday whether things are moved or not. Please read the instructions on the first page very carefully! No posting lesson materials except in their appropriate threads. We don't want to make this board messy with extra lesson materials floating around. Thank you for your consideration!

So does the link for the grade 3 text work for anyone?
I can't remember the last time it worked for me.
I believe they're getting new books in March (new school year) for grade 3, just like Gr 2 was last year, but in the mean time it's simply added complication without a working link.

http://textbook.doosandonga.com/update/mid_grade3_eng_kim/home.htm

does that work for anyone?
(and I realize it must be used in IE only...)
Still didn't / doesn't work.

Hmm.
Imagine that, one of my school's computers bending me over...

I am at one of my other schools today and it works.  I have a hunch it has something to do with the installed adobe on the other computer.

My teacher's room computer must be IE11.  It opens on my English room computer, though...but that doesn't do me a whole lot of good because it's sometimes used for other things.  Thanks though.  I will maybe try firefox...or running with scissors.

hi, i'm teaching english in a middle school. thesedays, students are learning inversion in a sentence with adverbial phrases of place. we usually know that there's no inversion in a sentence having a pronoun as a subject, but i wonder it is possible to use a sentence such as 'on the hill is she standing.' please anser me, it will bring the light to my heart.

I borrowed one of the students new textbooks for Middle School English 3. It matches the other grades books in that the words spell out 'english' in blue, yellow and green hues. I've added a pic of it in the attachment.

Why delete your comment? The congratulations seems a bit out of context!

While it may not be completely incorrect, it sounds like you need an adverb after 'standing', and it sounds completely archaic (or from a line in a Shelley poem).

Hi, new here - just started teaching at two middle schools, 3rd grade only...
Does anyone have the link for the new Grade 3 CD materials? I'm teaching Lesson 1 Catch Your Dreams this coming week and don't have access to the CDs, so I'm kind of freaking out.

I don't even bother with the CD's, I just read the scripts myself (for the Listen and Talk pages). You can find the scripts in the back of the book (the student version) the scripts are also in the teacher's edition (but located on the actual activity pages).
If you need to teach other pages you can ask your co-teachers to give you the CD. You can just pop it into the computer and find the link you need for the lesson and play it like that during the lesson instead of planning into your powerpoint.
