It's best to consult your co-teacher if you're unsure of how to use the media materials as well as lesson planning.

If you have any information regarding CD-ROMS, websites from the publisher, or any substantially worthwhile info that teachers need, please PM me and I'll add it to this first post of the index.

*As you can see, there are no lessons for grade 2 and 3 yet. I need to know the lesson titles in order to add the threads for these. Please someone let me know as soon as possible and I will add it when I get a chance.

Once again... Please DO NOT post lesson plans on the index section. Find the appropriate lesson or review thread and add your comments, lesson plans, and materials there. Also, DO NOT post things for special holidays/camps/teaching methods, etc on this index. Find the appropriate page by using the search function at the top of the page.

Please let me know if any of the links are not working or directing you to the wrong board by PM. I will not check this board often since I don't use this textbook series.

*I am very busy these days and these are not my textbooks. Please be patient when waiting for everything to come together. Thank you to newgirl42, leighannsun, and jlehmke for sending me the information for these books!

I have the purple book too.

At least there is a couple of us to share ideas with.

Here's what I have for Lesson 1 Part 1.

Purple book

I made a worksheet for my advanced level classes to practice pg. 11 Exercise C and Pg. 14 Talk in Action.

Some notes:
-Pg 2 is the front; it's pretty self-explanatory

Pg 1:
-If you want the guessing game to be fair, you can cut out extra pics. That way they randomly choose the jobs, rather than picking it themselves. Otherwise, they can just write down on another paper what job they picked.
(Otherwise my kids would lie about which one they picked to get more points. :p)
-The dotted line indicates a fold. After playing for 5 minutes, have them fold the paper so they then have to remember the job names.
-You can switch jobs in and out of the grid if you want to cover different jobs, such as "architect" or "computer programmer."
-The bottom pic under Steve Jobs corresponds with "Engineer," and the first two in the 2nd row are "Stylist" and "Technician."  Go over each picture and job with the students first. ^^

My kids are pretty advanced, so I have to make the exercises harder than what the book provides. Hope this can help be a starter for someone! I'll probably make easier versions for my other levels, so I'll upload them as I finish.

Advice Adventure Game

Don't remember who uploaded this originally, so sorry!

Adapted the target language to fit C: Look and Talk pg. 11 (purple book).

Perfect for low-level students.

I use the purple book as well, here is my PPT and the worksheet I made.  I don't have to teach out of the book, so I am basically using the theme of the lesson and teaching vocabulary and the key study points.
Last week I went over the PPT, handed out the worksheet and let students fill in the vocab as it comes up in the lesson.  Then they made a Venn diagram about their dream jobs.
This week we will complete the worksheet (and the second word search one for students who finish early) and students will prepare their presentations.
In the third week every student will get to present their ideas about their dream job in class.  As I have a lot of freedom in my class this year, and we are taking our time doing each lesson, I can focus on incorporating activities that get the kids talking more.  Very grateful for that.

I have the green book.  Here's the ppt I used for the first class.  I put it together using another person's lesson as a template.  FYI, there are no pictures after the 7th slide, because I used pictures I had up on Google Chrome.  The pictures I had up on Google Chrome are actually the same pictures I used in the game at the end, so you could always save those files and have them up as a slide show if you wanted.

Sorry if it's not the great.  I basically had to throw something together the best I could, as I didn't have the CD until literally 5 minutes before class, and I still don't have the teacher's guide yet.

The book index has been updated to reflect the newest editions of the books available for grade 3. The broken links have been fixed. If there are any problems that you find in the links or labeling, please don't hesitate to contact me and explain the problem. Thank you all for your patience!

***Also, if you have posted lesson materials on the main thread page, please remove them and place them on the correct lesson page within two weeks. Anything that is left will be deleted. Thank you!
