Hello again... one more song listening fill-in-the-blanks. This one is for Lady Gaga's 'Paparazzi'. I also have a  PPT to kind of intro the song and some of the words and one key phrase (e.g. chase you down). There is a wordsearch for after the song also. You can get the song from YouTube as I did. I tried to upload the avi.file/.mp4 file that I converted of it, but I can't seem to be able to. Sorry!

I found the .avi file for the song... you can just play it separately from the PPT.

A Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" song listening and gap fill. I did this last year and it was good because the students knew the song and liked it. I have a PPT with the answers to the fill in the blanks and two versions (easy and more difficult) of the gap fill, as well as, the full version of the song. Last year, my co-teacher had the bright idea to play the video for the song to make it more entertaining which was cool, too.

Here's some stuff for Grade 3 Lesson 11. I know it might be a little late for some of you, sorry about not posting sooner! This past week I haven't had time to get on here.

Anyhow, I made some cards to play Go Fish regarding the "I'm planning to..." dialogue. They are pics of Spongebob snowboarding, singing, etc. It has gone over well with my classes with quite a few groups asking to play again. Of course, it's not a hit with everyone, but it did work well. I took the time to laminate them all and glue the paper onto the back of another paper so that the cards were not see-through. But, if you don't have the time or energy to do that. I think it would work well on the fly regardless of laminates. It could also be a good review activity. Also, there is a PPT to help intro/review the target language and to help explain how to play the game. You might want to get your co-teacher to help explain it here if it's the first time playing just for peace of mind and to start the game sooner. I got caught up trying to explain it thoroughly and would've rather had that extra time for game play. Anyhow, here it is...

As well, the WINTER VACAY PPT is just to help practice the dialogue.

The BOMB GAME is for the I'm planning to dialogue. I got that template online last year somewhere and can't remember where, but whoever made it is genuis!! I've played it many times before and it's a real hit with students. So, a big THANK-YOU to the creator of that game.

Also, the Bomb game sorry file is a bomb game for the 'Sorry, but I have to go...' dialogue. I play it in teams and the winner gets a candy.

A Kaboom game for the Lesson 11 dialogue that you can use as either a team or single player game.

A review slide for the lesson 10 dialogue.

Stuff for Grade 2 Lesson 11   'interested in' and 'thank you...'

The JOBS QUIZ file I did to intro/review some job names. Play the PPT and have the students write down the 12 names. Then check the answers and go into the dialogue practice.

The interested in file is for practice of the dialogue. It also has a 'Who Am I?' guessing game at the end of it. I did that with the students in teams of 6 and it worked out alright. I had them guess the interested in ... and then the 'who am i?' - each correct guess gets a point with the winner getting a candy.

The Speaking Practice PPT - is for the compliment stuff. I had some student volunteers come up to role play giving the compliment and saying thank-you. The easy file has more fill in the blanks in it for my lower-level students.

The Bomb Game is for practice of the 'interested in' dialogue.

The Creative Foods file... well, I guess it's more just for fun rather than review. I got a little carried away searching for creative foods files on the web.

A review slide with fill in the blanks to review the target dialogue at the start of class.

Oh, I was typing so much that I forgot... haha. The Typhoon Game is another really good PPT game that I got online (same place I got the Bomb Game) but, can't remember where. It is a real hit with students as well. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! to whoever made that game.

Grade 1 Lesson 11 stuff...

Many, many thanks to the poster who put up the Would you Mind 4x4 game for Grade 2 a while ago! I can't quite remember who it was and I'll have to check. But, I think it was fudoose. Anyways, that game was great so thank-you. I took your idea and PPT and modified it to practice the "What does it look like?" /"It has.../ It is..." stuff as a game. I haven't tried it yet - but will do it next week as a review.

Also, I have some PPTs with pics of animals and arrows pointing to the various body parts to have students practice the "What does it look like?/ It has..." stuff. It's a little boring, but you could use it at the last 5 mins of class and award the team/person who gets it right with a candy/sticker etc. to make it more fun. I have and included a similar PPT with some famous people and funny pics from the web.

Another TYPHOON Team  Game - again, thanks to whoever created that - to practice the 'What does it look like?' stuff.

The Alien Drawing stuff I prepared and did based on modifying Page 138's activity. Every time I did it before (last year and when I started the lesson this year) students got a little carried away with the cool alien pics and only one or two groups were actually doing the activity correctly. So, I changed the activity to where I am the speaker and students must draw. It worked well and the students seemed to enjoy themselves. I check afterwards to see who has the best on at each table (6 tables in my classroom). The Aliens PPT I do before the activity to kinda pre-teach some of the alien vocab (e.g. horns, antenna, etc.).
The Group DrawingPages file is for the handout for the students to draw on, or you can just have 'em draw in their book on Page 138.

Here was my Lesson for Grade 3, Lesson 10 Speakout -- Have you heard.
It was a HUGE HIT with my kids, it's futurama themed and even though they didnt know the show I introduced the characters and they liked the dialogue alot.

Slides 4, 5, 8,9, 13 all have hyperlinks to a youtube video which corresponds with what the slide is talking about. These hyper links are in the conversation bubbles, highlighted and underlined in blue.
In order:
Arctic Swim
Charlottes Web Trailer
Planet Earth Video: Angel Falls
Willie-E-Coyote and Road Runner (play until 1:50 ..students LOVE this)
A typical life of the middle school student (HUGE HIT)

Conversation bubbles have a lot of dialogue. Play the presentation with the speech bubbles to see..the hyperlinks are at the end of each dialogue..unlined in blue.

Here is my posts for Grade 1 Lesson 11 Speak out. I did an entire lesson on what do you look like...disney style.

At the beginning the first slide has a hyperlink to the jungle book "I wanna be like you" song. It was a hit with my kids.

Ive also added my PPT on the history of cartoons, which is a good wintercamp, afterschool PPT or back-up plan if you can do it. It's all based on retro cartoons from the 1940's. Enjoy

Grade 1 Lesson 11

PPT to intro and practice both dialogues.

Kaboom! Game to review/practice the lesson's dialogues. Again, thanks to Eatyourkimchi.com for the idea for this game!!!

hello again... just realized that i didn't include the mp4 files for some of the clips in the ppt. I got the clips from YouTube.

Clip 1 -- Baby Walking (it's kinda short and seems to freeze up/stop quickly on me. But,you get the point of it and can see the baby walking)

Clip 2 - Mister Ed playing baseball

Clip 3 - The Baby Sneezing Panda clip

All of the clips are from YouTube and I don't own them or anything. You could just search them on YouTube. But, I'll put the mp4's here.

Hey lovelies,

This week is one of those off weeks for me where the 2 weeks to a lesson thing didn't quite add up. Here's a review game with Sprite06's Spongebob game template.

It reviews our fall lesson(Halloween, Thanksgiving, Harvest, etc) and lessons 10 and 11. I also threw in a couple geography things just for fun.

My school wanted me to do Lesson 12 this week. Some of my students have already had finals exams and it's only the middle of November. So, here's what I came up with for Lesson 12, Grade 2. The "lesson 12 grade 2" PPT basically has the Speak Out sentences and a short writing activity. the "grade 12 kpop game" file is a speaking game I made using another contributor's great KPop sound byte PPT awhile ago. I kept the sound bytes but changed everything else. I hope this can help someone!
