Well, its that time of year again. My students begin exams in two weeks.
Does anyone have a review game for lessons 7-12 that they've been using with the first grade? I have not been teaching them the textbook (I do my own, completely unrelated lessons) but my co-teacher thinks a review is in order, so I'm after a kind of template.

Here's the link to my lesson and the sentences that form the first activity are attached in the word document. The cat thing is the warm up. The I do the listening exercises. Then the rest contained in the prezi. My contribution. Hope it's useful for someone.

Here's a fun song to practice "Why..." and "Because..." if you teach all girls, don't think boys would enjoy it! ;D

Bah!!  My coteachers just changed their mind, I WILL be teaching next week.  Initially, they said it's review week for the final exam so they need the time to cram with the students.

So, I am in a crunch and need to make a great review game/class for 3rd grade next week.

My students are wild, very low level English and 2/3 boys so it has to be fun fun fun....but they have to stay in their seats (or else they just start fighting).  Any ideas?  I'm stuck.

Twitch, just take one of Daejon's Bomb Game templates (Angry Birds, Simpson's, Mario, etc.) and just add some random questions from the units.  That's what I was going to do until my co-teachers told me I didn't have to do review with them.  Honestly, it will take you less than an hour to make and it will be extremely successful as the templates are really professional looking.

You can find all his templates here: http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwaygook.org%2Findex.php%2Ftopic%2C9490.0.html&h=fAQGAwuv0AQHxSdVzJ4g_S5qx9uhRL0GMkJ3fBA2QDXlLMQ

You will have to download some fonts and stuff to go along with it, but all is extremely well explained on his post.

Your students will love it and you will have to do minimal work, thanks to the great Daejon and his bomb games!!

Hope this helps

Cheers!

3rd Grade:  Lesson 12
I made a review board game.

*for the squares that have pictures....they must make a sentence.  ex:  I was born to play soccer.

Here is a textbook lesson for grade 2, lesson 10, Let's Draw Our Future.  The first part is pretty straight forward following the book, and cd.  The second part is a short picture game, having the students use the 2 key expressions.

Grade 2 Ch 10 11 12 Review Game
« Reply #308 on: November 30, 2011, 10:56:57 AM »
Hello Guys,

Here is my Review Game for Grade 2.  It's the new Spongebob Game from Daejeon.   You may have to adjust the font size on some of the slides (depending on which computer I use at school the font either fits or is WAY too large.)

I was a little worried about Spongebob being too young or elementary for my *supercool* middle schoolers.  But they really enjoyed it.  Even the students who don't like Spongebob really enjoyed the game aspect. I think it's the music.  Major Props to Daejeon for making a killer game.

Hope it helps!

Oops!  Sorry about that!

Soo...Sprite06-- Thanks for your work.  It is amazing and my students love it.  Getting the music in sync with the actions on the screen is pretty awesome.  Here's a link to his Bomb Game Thread: http://waygook.org/index.php/topic,22140.0.html

These are the themes of those books for each chapter.  I have total freedom to do anything so long as I discuss the themes of each chapter.  I don't necessarily have to do all the listen and repeat garbage inside.
I made PPT's and wrote my own dialogues, word puzzles, etc based on these themes.  Some lessons I used for all grade because of similiar themes.  Sometimes a good warm up is a 5 minute video or cartoon.  I had downloaded a bunch of short bugs bunny clips.  I use those as an into sometimes before starting the lesson or PPT.

Grade 1 Themes:

Chapter One- Greetings and Introductions
Chapter Two – Routine
Chapter Three – School
Chapter Four – Hobby
Chapter Five – Family / Birthday
Chapter Six – Foreign Culture
Chapter Seven – Environment / Weather
Chapter Eight – English Expressions (slang)
Chapter Nine – Feelings / Emotions
Chapter Ten – Telephone Conversation
Chapter Eleven – Science / Technology.
Chapter Twelve – Descriptive adjectives.  (To be in awe – Seven Wonders of the world.)

Grade Two Themes:

Chapter One – Future Goals.
Chapter Two – Around the World / Geography.
Chapter Three – Using the internet.
Chapter Four – Advertisements
Chapter Five – Party / Cooking.
Chapter Six – Activities (What have you done?)
Chapter Seven – Heroes / Role Models:
Chapter Eight – Animals
Chapter Nine – Giving Advice (If I were you…)Suggestion
Chapter Ten – Life in the Future
Chapter Eleven – Traditional Korean Culture
Chapter Twelve – Exercise & Fitness

Grade Three Themes:

Chapter One – Career
Chapter Two – Memories with friends and family
Chapter Three – Watching a Movie or Performance
Chapter Four – Foreign Culture / Geography
Chapter Five – Art / Museums
Chapter Six – Science Experiments (as; like, etc)
Chapter Seven – Travel; Cultures
Chapter Eight – Moral of the story; life lessons
Chapter Nine – Daily Economics : Daily Budget : Spending Habits
Chapter Ten – Food Theme (Around the world)
Chapter Eleven – Environment : Global Warming.
Chapter Twelve – Future Goals (Memories of me – Activity)

Some of you folks have serious PPT skills.

Thank you for taking the time and effort and sharing them here. Can't wait to try this one out next week.

Here's a Final's Review game I did using another waygook.orger's Mystery Box game.  The kids REALLY get into it.  You will need to do something else for 10-15 mins though.  I had one page left to cover in the book and my usual warm-ups to start the class.

Massive thank you to all the powerpoint wizards. Especially Catfish, who saved me when time was running out! I changed the powerpoint to correct some grammar mistakes and simplify the game because I didn't have time give the construction of the game much attention. Thank you again, my classes loved it.

Is there anywhere a new teacher can get ahold of the old ones? Many people seem to think they're better.
What a happy coincidence:
Earthly and heavenly light
Awakening,
Mingling and becoming
A thought, a passing dream.

Thanks for this weigookin74
I'm kinda in the same boat where I don't have to teach out of the text book but
instead build lessons around what is taught in it.
When looking through the chapters, it get's pretty confusing
seeing as each chapter has so many different things/material in it, but looking at how
you divided each chapter with a specific topic makes it much easier to build a lessons around
and create games.  Nice one, thanks!

Thank goodness I found my book! This is from 2008 too! not 2011 like we were told in orientation.
