Here's a Battleship game and an instructional PPT to go with it for Grade 1 Lesson 6 ("What are you going to do ________?" "I'm going to ________.")

I play with 2 teams of 2 students against each other. They do Rock paper scissors to see who goes first and then alternate from then on. Both students on the team have to say the expression ("What are you going to do _______?" "I'm going to ________.") then the other team says "hit", "miss", or "sink." First team to sink all of the other team's ships is the winner.

Here's a Battleship game and an instructional PPT to go with it for Grade 2 Lesson 6 ("I'm worried about ______." "Take it easy.")

I play with 2 teams of 2 students against each other. They do Rock paper scissors to see who goes first and then alternate from then on. Both students on the team have to say the expression (I'm so worried about the test." "It's going to be alright.") then the other team says "hit", "miss", or "sink." First team to sink all of the other team's ships is the winner.

For Grade 1 Lesson 6

I attached a directions bomb game that I found somewhere on here and modified a little. I have them get in groups of 6 and then as a group they say one phrase on the left (Where is ______?) and then a phrase on top (i.e. Go straight and turn left). I'm sure there are better games for actually giving and following directions, but my students are at a pretty low level so I focus on just getting them to speak.

For Grade 1 Lesson 6 (Mongolia Land of Blue Sky), I taught Listen & Speak 1 (page 100) in the blue Activity Book. Before I had the students practice Page 100, I used a Directions PowerPoint that I modified (I deleted unnecessary slides).

After I went over the PowerPoint, I led the students through Part B of Listen & Speak 1 (Activity Book).

After the students practiced giving directions, they stood up and practiced with their partners.

For classes that finished early, I spent 10 to 15 minutes playing the Directions Bomb Game uploaded by adamjaythomas.

I've not posted any lessons before so I hope this works! All this semester (I'm new) I have been given the freedom to do whatever I want with my lesson which is great in many ways, but I think using the language in the textbook will help my students more in the long run. Therefore starting this week I have been using all your ideas to come up with different lessons for grades 1, 2 and 3 based on what's going on in their books. Here's what I patched together.

 Grade 1 - lesson 5 - present continuous.

The running dictation thing seems to be awesome btw so thanks for the people who posted that before!!

I'm not as happy with the activities for this one but I just cant think of anything else.. I plan to do a segment of board work eliciting I have, she has etc and then getting them to tell me as many past participles as they can and write them in regular and irregular columns. Pretty much all of this one is stolen from somewhere too so many thanks for all your good work! I plan to print the two word docs as a double sided hand-out.

Grade 2 - Lesson 6 (How does the cat sleep soundly? (what a ridiculous title!))

The video (as I doubt Powerpoint will keep it in there when I post this) is Fighting Gravity that someone kindly told us about earlier :)

Here's a Mario Bomb game I've done as a review for Chapters 4-6, Listen and Speak for Grade 1. It focuses almost exclusively on speaking, so takes an entire lesson to get through. The questions deal with present continuous (-ing), directions and the "...going to" structure. There aren't many gap-fill questions, so to keep the game moving it's important you have a handle on the class and push the students for answers. For the open questions, I make every group member give me an answer before they get the point. It can be a little slow with some of the lower level students, but if you let the other group members help them they usually end up saying the structure correctly, which is a victory in itself! I forgive small grammatical errors, as it's primarily designed to force the students to use English in a vaguely communicative context. There are no 'set' answers, so it's up to you what you accept as a correct answer. If you read the questions, you'll notice you have to draw a map on the board and a couple of pictures, too. That way, you can make them as difficult as you want depending on the class/what kind of mood you're in! You'll also want to change "Mr.K" to whatever your students call you.

Attached is a PPT bomb game for an exam prep lesson for Middle School Grade 3.

I take no credit for the game at all - I just altered the questions on it to match with lessons 4, 5 & 6 (Listen & Speakk 1+2) for Grade 3.

Feel free to alter the questions and re-post.

Thanks

Grade 2 Lesson 6:  Travel (Pg. 88)

Intro:  Watch Where is Matt video
Landmarks Guessing Game:  Ask Ss where the famous landmarks are located.
Travel:   Talk about transportation and time.  ex: "If she goes by plane, it will take 12 hours."
Run Say Write:  (Running Dictation) Make teams.  Print out pg. 36 and tape it outside of the classroom.  Give each team a blank sheet of paper.  Each team chooses a writer.  Then, give each member of the team a number 1-10.  When the teacher says "go," the 1st players from each team run outside, memorize their sentence, run back, and tell their writers.  As the writers write the sentence, the second players stand up, run and memorize sentence 2, and so on.  It's like a relay race.  The first team to finish wins. You can show pg. 35 to help out the writers with spelling.
Group Activity:  Have Ss answer the riddles in their same groups for prizes.

Thanks again to everyone who made the original lessons, you are all lifesavers!

I made these Jeopardy games from my students as a review for their 1st semester final exam. (Note: My father is an FBI agent--but thats not his picture!)

With the 1st graders, I decided to review everyhing we have covered since day1. the second graders I only covered lessons 3-5. with the 3rd graders I focused on what they learned beyond the mid-term.

You can tweak this to your liking

Lessons 4, 5 and 6 Review Angry Birds games using Daejeon's template.
It won't last all 45 minutes of a class so have a pre-review of the lessons or something else to go along with it.

I don't usually use a textbook, but today my co-teacher asked me to make a ppt for the book she uses, which is Middle School 2 (the yellow one). I made an activity for the Lesson 6 buildup, which is sentences about the five sentences, "I saw my brother running around the lake" etc. Just 11 simple sentences about people seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, etc.
