I tweaked this choose your own adventure activity for Grade 3 Lesson 2 (giving advice) from earlier in this thread. The anime pictures (especially the girls) were a little racy and the kids were freaking out... so I changed it to a Super Mario theme. I also changed it from first person to third person.

I have the class vote on each decision by raising their hands and whichever choice wins we read aloud as a class ("He should _____."). They seem to be semi-entertained by it.

Here's an idea for teaching Food Likes and Dislikes (Grade 2 Lesson 2 Healthy Habits - Listen & Speak 2)

I found the Lesson Plan PDF on the web site below

http://www.in2english.com.cn/media_file/cms/2004-03-03/1110517184Lesson%20plan%20-%20Do%20you%20like.pdf

I have also included an activity idea for Food Likes Dislikes (Microsoft Word file)

MS Grade 2 lesson 3
I used the emoticon pictures and questions from another teacher and made this ppt.
Simpsons short bomb game that deals with the ppt and the beginning of the chapter.

Here's a Battleship game and an instructional PPT to go with it for Grade 2 Lesson 3 (asking favors)

I play with 2 teams of 2 students against each other. They do Rock paper scissors to see who goes first and then alternate from then on. Both students on the team have to say the expression ("Will/Would/Can/Could you do me a favor? Can you close the window?") then the other team says "hit", "miss", or "sink."

Hi everyone,

Teaching at the Jochiwon Boys Middle School and I have these books as well. Can honestly say I'm not looking forward to using them as the books at the High School I taught at before were much more enjoyable, but hey when life gives you lemons right. Anyway, look forward to communicating with everyone and hopefully contributing some things that can help. I attached a power point I did for the first grade "Healthy Habits" i think it's pretty boring but seeing as how they want me to teach directly from the book it's what I had to do.......sorry. But hopefully if your in a situation like mine this can help out.

Something for grade 2 (Design your year). The 10 problems at the end of the powerpoint are for a game i played with the kids. Print out the Goals word document and cut the suggestions into strips. Tape them up around the room and divide the kids into groups. Have one student from each group come to the front of the room, read the problem on the powerpoint and then race to find the right suggestion taped around the room. The kids seemed to really enjoy it but it gets a little crazy if you have large classes. Hope it helps

here is something for the 3rd graders. Basically its just information about some characters and asking the students what type of jobs these people might like given their characteristics. The kids seemed a into it at first and then as the class went on they kind of lost interest. Anybody who has ideas on a better way to teach this topic or something to supplement with it, the input would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody having to teach teachers, mine really enjoyed talking about bullying in America and Korea. It also got a good back and forth about the American and Korean school systems.

http://www.eatyourkimchi.com/bullying-in-south-korea/

first i played this video from eatyourkimchi.com

http://abcnews.go.com/2020/TheLaw/school-bullying-epidemic-turning-deadly/story?id=11880841#.T36LK6t-c-w

then played this video and gave them a copy of the articel

let the conversations begin  :)

A game idea for Grade 3 Lesson 3 is Taboo or Pictionary with the following movies:
Oldboy
마더 (Mother)
박쥐 (Thirst)
Transformers
Spiderman
X-Men
Taegukgi
써니 (Sunny)
해운대 (Haeundae)
괴물 (The Host but I think it translates to Monster in Korean)
친구 (Friend)
Iron Man
High School Musical
D-War
Titanic

It was difficult for me to remember more non-superhero movies Korean students would know and be able to draw.
They should know all of these.  Last week I played Taboo so this week I'll do pictionary.  After a team (going to play boys vs girls) answers correctly, you can ask them about the genre or story or what the movie is about before going on to the next movie.

Lesson 2 - Our Friends From Around the World

Okay this may be a bit too late for most people but hopefully it will help someone down the track.

This is a game to practice Speaking section 1 - May I take your order? I have the class divided into teams. The first team is the waiter and asks the team next to them (customers) what they would like. Once the customer group has selected their items etc the 'tip' at the end is rewarded to the first team who was the waiter. (I hope that makes sense?) Then the group who was the customer is now the waiter and it moves on like that around the classroom.

I got the idea from another waygookan - can't remember who sorry. But I've jazzed it up and changed it heaps to suit this lesson. Hope it comes in handy for somebody!

I've not posted any lessons on here before, so thought I should get round to it.
Here's a PPT for Grade 2 Lesson 3 Part 2 Listen and speak (Are you a good Netizen) and a worksheet for a production activity.
I have to give massive credit to the two guys Alan and JP who made the video in place of the tune-in activity at the end of the listen and speak section (the link to the vid is on the PPT).  My students found it very funny!
