Grade 3 Lesson 4 - Sudden Attack game.

You will need to personalize slide 26 to be about yourself.

UPDATED: Answers in the comments box

I used a previous poster's upload in this thread as a warmer - "foreigners living in Korea" - some of the people/places in the game are introduced there.

Enjoy.

this is my first time teaching in Korea (or ever for that matter) and i was told by the school that i should not be using the english books at all. is this normal?? im fine with it but its a bit difficult coming into the situation with no guidance at all. its hard for me to judge what level the kids are at, i think they are much lower than other public schools. so far ive just been sort of winging it with lesson planning but i dont know how long that can last

Yeah I'm the same.  But I was told initially to just talk about myself for two weeks, the Books look dire

Grade 1 L4.
PPT (i incorporated a couple of slides at the beginning from another teacher.)
Partner worksheet
Archer template game. you will have to change out my name for some of the slides or questions.

Grade 2 L4
PPT (this one is a mismatch of different teacher's ppt ideas with some of my own.)
the section with the guessing the logo was def. made by another person bc i'm not computer savvy.
To this person, i thank you.

Archer template game.

Grade 3 L4
I used this ppt from another teacher with only a few tweaks to it bc it was already perfect for lesson 4.
Worksheet about favorite foreign things.

Grade 1, Lesson 4
Working with the theme of Instructions and Commands, I am using the song "Love ME" by the Bieb' as a filler activity for teaching imperatives.
I think I posted about this last year at the same time, but on the general lessons board and not this one specifically, so if you need some help for a filler activity in Chapter 4, here we are. It's a simple little PPT about what an imperative is followed by listening to the song a couple of times without showing them the video (just put up the slide of JB saying "Let's go" at that time. Then they need to fill in the missing words in the worksheet. The one they have the most trouble with is usually "fool me, fool me".
I give candy to the little panda cubs who can fill in everything. If they can't then the people who did the best. They I also give candy to the student who can name all the imperative instructions from the song. Then I show them the video. It's a nice little treat for them at this time of year.

Peace.

Grade 3 Lesson 4: Our Foreign Neighbors

1.  Intro:  Watch Animaniacs video. Afterwards,  ask students what countries they saw.
2.  Guessing Game:  Students must guess where my friends are from.  "He/ She is from _____."
3.  Foreigners in Korea:  Ask students the names of the foreigners and where they are from.
4.  Korean Stars:  Ask students the names of the stars and where they are from.
5.  Experiencing foreign cultures in Korea:  Talk about different places to learn about different cultures in Korea (Chinatown, Itaewon,
Seoreae, Namhae) and what they would like to do there.
6.  Speaking Activity:  Travelling game:  Print out slides 43-46 and place one at each corner of the room.  Choose 4 students to be travel
agents and send them to each corner.  Give the rest of the students a travelling game worksheet.  The students must walk to each
corner and practice the dialogue.  The travel agents will stamp the students' worksheets each time.  The students must get 12
     stamps  to complete the worksheet.
7.  Review game:  Hot seat/ Taboo:  Describe a place by saying what you would like to do there.

I modified some older powerpoints, so thank you for all your help!  Sorry if the directions seem so complicated.  You can modify the lesson to fit your preferences.  If you have any questions please don't hesistate to ask!

Grade 1 Lesson 4 Vocab (Abracadabra is the lesson title). 39 slides. There are 48 vocab words for this lesson, but I couldn't think of any pictures that would go with 10 of the words.

For most of the first 24 slides, you need to click on the mouse multiple times (or roll the mouse ball) so that all of the pictures and the text (the answer) show up.

I made the vocab PowerPoint the way I did so that I could turn the vocab lesson/class time into a Vocab Quiz/Guessing Game.

You might want to give students a few minutes to study the 48 vocab words (if the Korean teacher has given them the Lesson 4 vocab list)

Please let me know if you have any problems using this PowerPoint

I would just like to say thank you to everybody who contributes to this thread. I've just arrived in Gunsan and have 22 different classes of 30 16-year-olds, and I have no idea where to start! My co-teachers have not exactly been forthcoming with what is expected of me or even giving me the materials - I have been told to teach the listening and speaking activities from these books but wasn't given any of the CDs or other resources until I asked for them. All of your ideas will be very helpful, so thanks again  :)

Grade 2 Lesson 3- Advice and Have you ever ___?

Sorry for posting so late, but if anyone is still teaching Grade 2 Lesson 3, here is my lesson on Advice and Have you ever _____?
Advice
1.  Talk about my bad day (My tire is flat/ My face is messy, etc.)
2. Ask the students to give you advice (I think you should ____) (change the tire/ wash your face, etc.)
Have you ever ___?
3.  Talk about the question "Have you ever ____?" and translate.
4.  Ask students "Have you ever ___?" (met a famous person/ been to a foreign country, etc.)
5. Information Gap:  Give each student a card.  They must walk around, find a partner, and play rock paper scissors.  The winner asks the loser a question "Have you ever ___?"  The loser responds "Yes I have/ no I haven't"
6.  Whisper Game:  Make teams.  Each team forms a line.  The teacher whispers a sentence eg. "I think you should ____" to the first players on each team.  They whisper to the next person in their line, and so on.  The last player on the team must run to the front and say the sentence out loud for a point.  The team with the most points wins.

Hello,

Attached is a lesson plan & worksheet for grade 3, lesson 4, listen & speak 1.

Based on using the target language to ask about friend's plans in the future.

Students must use target language dialogues to complete a plan for the long Buddha's Birthday weekend.

Edits are welcomed.
