to HaaHaaHaa16

there's a good zombie game on here for that lesson.
I've also made a battleships type game that they do in groups of 4 (2 pairs). I've attached it for you. Basically they have 4 markers each (per pair) then they place the markers on 4 squares (keeping their board hidden from the other pair).
They then ask the q - will you do me a favour? can I borrow your pen?, if the other team do not have a marker on that sq they reply with the negative answer written, if they do have a marker they reply with 'sure' and give the other team their marker, first team to get all the other's markers wins.
Its easier than it sounds! and gets them all talking. Ive attached a ppt with instructions on but that was for a slightly different version of the game so u'll need to alter it.

Hope that helps.

That's fantastic. Thankyou so much.

I struggle to make one PPT for one lesson let alone 2.

Games it is.

I made the switch from elementary to middle school last month and am using these books to teach 1st and 2nd grade. I must say thank you to those who've uploaded materials (especially Alikaz) as I've adapted a lot of the ideas here in my own lessons.

I'm teaching lesson 2nd grade lesson 10 next week and here's what I have so far. The prezi is likely to change between now and then so feel free to save a copy for yourself if you want to edit anything there. My lesson has nothing at all to do with teamwork, but I'm instead focusing on the "I'd like to...." construction.

Prezi is here: http://prezi.com/xfinkdzaofsk/210a-teamwork-makes-a-difference/

Materials are attached:
gapfill activity (the track is embedded in prezi, or you can view here )
snakes and ladders (I'm planning to print and laminate 10 of these so the students can play at their tables. You'll also need dice and counters - I've found the easiest way is to use small sticky labels that the kids can write their names on).

Hey all
I was wondering if anyone had ideas for Grade 3 Lesson 11? I might be a bit ahead of people, but my grade 3s have their finals starting at the end of next week so I need to cover all the material by then... Any help is appreciated!

EDIT: added a spin the wheel game

This is my lesson for 1st Grade L10 "Do You Like Music?". It's a mix of my own ideas and some materials that have been uploaded here by others. I have to plan 2 classes for each lesson in the book, and this one doesn't use the book at all - will do a more book focused lesson next week.

I'll start the class by getting the kids to think of as many music genres as they can, and at the end get them to work in pairs creating a new dialogue using the given phrases.

Prezi: http://prezi.com/lejvmeasmel6/110a-do-you-like-music/

worksheet and spin the wheel game are attached.

thatkidpercy, I really like that prezi. I've already done lesson 10 with my first graders, but I'm going to do it with my afterschool class. Great work, thanks.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. If you've not already had your afterschool class, I've just uploaded a spin the wheel game related to the worksheet too.

Halloween is in 2 weeks, what do you guys have in relation to the book or in general?  I want to scare the hell out of these kids or at least make them cry a bit (I know I'm a mean teacher, but it means I "love" them haha).  I'm looking to go to pop-up face changing videos, scary backgrounds and things similar.  Maybe clips of horror movies such as the Paranormal Activity Films and some Korean films horror flicks I'll do a survey by students.  G1L11 and G2L10 are my targets lessons so I gotta tie something into it or just quickly do the CD and then present my own ppt.  Attached is what I did for my last school with some pop-up scary vids included.  But I'm looking to do something BIG this year.

I used this lesson for 3rd Grade lesson 10, It was a great success, the kids found the powerpoint interesting and loved the mario game. This not my original work, but combinations of other people's (thanks all) along with some of my own additions/adjustments. Hopefully someone can find this useful.

Does anybody have any ideas how to turn the speaking section of Lesson 11 (Desert Spread) into a 45 minute lesson? Once again, I am puzzled, thankfully this is the last lesson in this book.

Well this one looks hard - 'I don't get it' and 'Let's play...'  Do any of us have any Grade students who don't regularly say these phrases?  I need a lesson by Monday afternoon.  I'm working on ideas now, but if anyone else has thought of something, please post it.

Ths is what I am using for Grade 3 lesson 11, desert spread. It is a refurbished lesson about the environment. I start with the quick introduction of Halloween, on the last slide of the Halloween ppt. there are videosembeded, I show them the one about halloween pranks and explain the meaning of "trick or treat". I showed the simpsons video with extra time at the end of class. The environment lesson isn't the most interesting to them, but oh well you can't always keep them on the edge of their seats. They enjoyed the simpsons slides and bomb game at the end.

This is my lesson for Grade 2 lesson 11.  I've gone for the 'movie and book review theme'  Haven't tried it yet, but it should work.

It should all be self explanatory.

For Grade 3 - I have only 1 more lesson with most of the classes before final exams so I'm going to do a couple of revision games.   I'm working on it today.

I'm wondering if you came up with anything good for this years halloween? I put together one myself using some of your one from last year and from other ones from fellow waygookers. I looked at some many different ones, I can't remember which ones I used, so thanks to all those who created the ppts. There are a few different videos in there you might be able to use.

Awesome job Enders,
I totally forgot about the MJ popups.  Yes I'm working on something its geared toward a zombie theme.  Made the Kevin and Yujin speaking videos eerie, for G1L11 but didn't do anything much for G2L9 my coteachers haven't touched L10 yet.  There's a zombie bomb game template by Shane I'll post shortly too once I get it all situated.

This is for grade 2 lesson 9 a zombie halloween theme and zombie bomb game. Included are a very short quick review of Halloween more for looks than anything.  Credit to the person who made the zombie adventure and to Shane/Daejon for the zombie bomb game.  I made the introductory video to the bomb game with The walking dead series clip with my own editions.  Feel free to add, subtract, change, and edit anything you wish.
