My school appears to be way behind the rest of you. I was told to continue with Chapter 4, but was pretty much out of materials. I have a wordsearch covering some new vocabulary for today, followed by a quick powerpoint offering some suggestions for what to do in a zombie attack. Next, the students completed a review worksheet (sentence scramble, dictation, and creative writing). Finally, they played an Angry Birds review game covering "You're supposed to, You're not supposed to, Did you remember?", etc. There were some problems with the powerpoint that I had to work around. I can't toggle between the game board and questions. In addition , birds aren't awarded upon completion of the question. To compensate for this, we played straight through from the first slide, hitting the arrow button to move until the next question (A>B>C...etc). We also had a colored dice that the students rolled to determine their awarded bird. Light Green was designated as the pig, and the team that rolled it lost all their birds. You could regular die in a similar manner. Hope this isn't too late to help some people!

the angry bird power point didnt work when trying to get the correct answers to pop up.

Just in case you hadn't tried, to get the answer to pop on in that game you must click on the question box at the top of each slide. But if you were doing that, then I'm not sure what's wrong.
A man lost his left arm and leg in an accident. He's all right now...

Game I made for grade one lesson five. concentrating on accepting and declining invitations

Great game! Kids get a kick out of the GIFs. Thanks.

Just tried it today for the first time and I feel it has a lot of potential, but I'm not running it well. How do you run it? Tried putting them in groups of 6, went team by team. But that leaves 80% of the class sitting and waiting for their shot.

Anyways, great work. Thanks again.

Thanks- Sorry only saw this now so hope not to late for you. I've only just discovered the gif- so going a bit crazy with it lately
I do have have them in 6 teams and it is team by team. I suppose that's the method that works for me as otherwise I find that the strong students take over and the other teams lose interest; so I play all my games on a team by team turn basis.  Perhaps a way to change it could be to leave the heading blank- and any student can answer buy trying to think of the sentence- and then get the reward for his/her team- that would avoid the team by team

I've alo adapted the AWESOME Pokemon game to use as a 4,5,6 review (so far only for G1 but G2 and maybe 3 to follow) but including pictures it's around 45mb and I don't know how to shrink it. Any ideas?

That sounds awesome! I'd say zip it with Winrar.

Unfortunately I use a Macbook and I don't know a decent program to zip things! Sorry...if it helps, Sprite06's Bomb Game thread is ace for 25+ question games perfect for reviewing a few chapters at a time. I used the V1 Pokemon Game but they all look great!

grade 1 lesson 5 treasure hunt. week 2

run through the target language we did the other week and then have them split into groups for games.

I've laminated plain pieces of paper for the the lucky wheel game so the students can work in teams and write out the answers and hold them up for me to see.

1st Grade Lesson 6 (part 1)

I'm doing this for an open class next week. The activities require a bit of preparation (laminating and cutting) but it's gone quite well with the classes I've taught this week.

The lesson's focus is:

What are you going to do this summer?
I'm going to (place)
What will you do there?
I'm planning to visit (famous site)

One of the timetable slides is hidden as it's set up for next Monday. Just unhide it and delete the current slide if you use this next week.

G3 Lesson 5 - for the second part of this lesson I focused on 'what do you think of / what's your opinion of' I know it's not one of the key phrases but good for a non book lesson!

It involves Ss brainstorming different adjectives then learning new ones.  The main activity is Ss going round the room and writing down their opinion of different people / places / movies and food they then interview others about this.  There's also a little game at the end.  It's worked really well with my Ss so hope someone else can get some use out of it!

If you need further explanation let me know.

Hi

This is my lesson for Grade 2 Lesson 6 - See the world, meet the people. I have really just taken from the ppts here already and mashed it together, to cover suggestions and giving directions.  I use a map I found on here as the activity where the students must give directions to the different places

If I have time I also use the pirates of the classroom bomb game which has been posted here already by DevilMogun, so I won't upload it again!!
Here's the link for it

Thanks Enders - I'm working on the same lesson for my open class.  I'll be stealing bits of yours, mixing it up with mine and reposting within the week.   ;D

2nd Grade, Lesson 6 (part 1)

This is a pretty simple lesson - most of the kids I teach really don't need another review on directions, but anyway....   ::) I tried to spice it up a little by including subway directions (where to transfer etc.), using parts from a PPT posted http://waygook.org/index.php/topic,13703.0.html

A few of the slides pertain to my school location and the local subway stations, so you'll need to change that if you decide to use it (I got the image from http://www.seoulmetro.co.kr/station/eng/linemap.action - print screen and crop in MS Paint).

You'll also need access to a colour printer (and laminating machine if possible!), as the tube maps are useless in black and white.

I got this from a google search and at a site called fiarcircle.com

This is for Grade 3 Lesson 6 as a supplement. The kids make their own passport. The prep requires a bit of time.

This is my lesson for Grade 3 Lesson 6.  Most of the materials and ideas were taken from previous ppts, so thanks to all who put in the work. At the end, we are using the Favors BAAM game which I found on here..

Here is my lesson for chapter 2 Lesson 5. As I've mentioned before, I'm behind you guys, but maybe you can use it as a review. I found a really cool Avengers game that my 6th grade elementary students absolutely love. Should translate well into Middle School. I've adapted it to cover "Do you know how to?" and a little review from chapter 4 as well. There is one personal slide about me that you'll have to change.
